Optometrist Chen Young, OD, is a Nevada native who is proud to serve patients four and older at Optic Gallery South Meadows located in Reno, Nevada.
Dr. Young was raised right here in Reno and is a graduate of Reed High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of the Pacific. He was an active member of his fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon, where he held various leadership roles. Dr. Young then attended the Southern California College of Optometry and graduated in 1995. He completed his optometric internship at the Veterans Hospital in Las Vegas, Nellis Air Force Base, and the Indian Health Services in Fort Defiance.
Dr. Young is currently practicing in a private optometric practice at Optic Gallery South Meadows. Dr. Young is an involved community member, participates in the Asian Chamber of Commerce, and is the current Chairman of the Asian Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee.
He is also actively involved in the Nevada Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Young was appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval to serve on the Nevada State Board of Optometry. As President of the Board, he helps to ensure high professional standards throughout the state.
Dr. Young has three children and has been a manager, sponsor, and coach with the Summerlin Little League for years.
